Free range
A GPS rangefinder for quick measurements on the spot. Point at any target on the map and see the distance from where you stand — or measure between two points to check a gap or a carry.
No account neededPlan
Prepare a round before you play it. Draw relevant OBs and hazards. Visualize your strategy for each hole, by mapping out every shot you plan to play tee to green — taking dog-legs, trees, OBs and other hazards into account. Add notes to remember important details.
Map your strategy shot by shotPlay
Keep your plan at hand while you score your round – the hole plan can be shown on the map while scoring. Add other users or guests to a round and help each other enter scores – scores are synced between users and devices. Net scoring is available when hole index and HCP is added.
Play your plan, solo or with friendsAlso in the app
- Every course in the world, near enough — more than 25,000 on a searchable map, with your favourites kept close at hand.
- Pars for most courses, kept by the community. Missing or wrong? Add or fix a sheet yourself — it becomes playable right away and everyone benefits.
- Net scores when the course has a stroke-indexed sheet and you've entered your handicap.
- Club choices on your plan — tell the app how far you hit each club and it suggests one for every shot you map.
- Where your misses land — each planned shot can show a wedge for that club's likely spread, skewed to your actual left/right miss if you're not straight.

- Private by default — an account is only needed to save your own things. Your email is never shown to other players, and your scorecards stay private.

A sharper look across the app
minor2026-09-10- Every button symbol in the app now comes from one clean line-icon set — the mixed bag of little pictures (flags, faces, globes) that could look different on every phone is gone.
- The app now moves like a phone app: windows ease in and out instead of popping, the score pad slides up from the bottom, and every button acknowledges your press.
- The distance number at the top is now big and bold, with a small unit beside it — much easier to read at a glance on the course.
- Settings was cleaned up: the choices there are now proper joined toggles, and keep-the-screen-awake is a single switch instead of an On/Off pair.
- Clearer map buttons: the rangefinder is now the same crosshair symbol everywhere, and "back to my position" got its own arrow — the two can't be mixed up any more.
- If your phone is set to reduce motion, the new animations switch themselves off.
A more consistent app, end to end
fix2026-09-09- Every colour, spacing and rounded-corner value in the app now comes from one shared set of design values — buttons, tabs, inputs and pills that used to differ by a pixel or two now match exactly across screens.
- Fixed a glitch where the Share and Edit buttons stayed visible inside a plan view where they didn't belong.
- Straightened out small inconsistencies: arrow and close buttons on the planning bars are one size now, all tabs have the same corner rounding, and the sign-in fields match the ones elsewhere.
- Ticking clubs in Settings no longer flashes a "saved" message for each tap — the tick itself is the confirmation. (Your bag still saves automatically.)
- Under the hood: an automated check now guards the design values, so future updates can't quietly drift away from them.
Where your misses land
minor2026-09-08- Turn on the new spread button and each planned shot grows a shaded wedge showing where the ball will likely land — wide for an unreliable club, narrow for a steady one.
- The wedge widens and lengthens with the shot, and it uses your own numbers: in Settings you can now say how wide each club sprays.
- Most golfers don't miss symmetrically — so there's a Left / Right option per club: how far each side's miss carries and how wide each side sprays. Your wedges come out skewed, leaning toward the side you actually miss.
- The distances and spread numbers got their own sections in Settings, so the rows stay short and readable.
- The spread button now works in the plain rangefinder too — turn it on and your shot line gets club labels and wedges, turn it off for bare distances. (It's hidden when you're not signed in, since it needs your club numbers.)
- With GPS on, the label sits on your live position dot — shown as a blue label so you can tell it apart from a placed point.
- You now stay signed in until you choose to sign out — no more signing in every time you open the app. (This also softens an earlier security fix that had gone too far.)
Security hardening behind the scenes
fix2026-08-31- Fixed a rare fault that could have shown a private scorecard to everyone in a shared round.
- Suggestions and corrections on a course are accepted only by the course's creator or the app's maintainer — never by the person who sent them.
- Your sign-in now stays remembered on this device — it only asks you to sign in again if you sign out (revised 2026-09-08: an earlier version of this fix asked you to sign in every time you opened the app, which was more hassle than it was worth).
Clubs on your plan
minor2026-08-30- When you plan a hole, each dot on your line can now show which club you'll hit from there — the dots grow into small labels with the club name.
- New Clubs page in Settings: tick the clubs in your bag and enter how far you hit each. It follows your account, so it works the same on every device.
- Clubs are suggested automatically from your distances — drag a dot and the suggestion updates. You can always choose one yourself by holding a dot down.
The whole world's courses
major2026-08-28- The course library grew from around 1,100 to 25,373 courses worldwide.
- New map view built to stay fast with that many courses.
- Course lists now sort by what's nearest to you.
- General speed-ups, and a fix for a map bug some browsers hit.
Courses now come hole by hole
major2026-08-26- Thousands of courses now include where each tee and green is. The app zooms straight to each hole and points you at the green.
- When you plan a hole, the tee-to-green line is drawn for you — just adjust it to your game.
- Something mapped in the wrong place? Anyone can suggest a fix.
- Smaller wording and highlight fixes.
Scorecards are now private
minor2026-08-20- Your scorecards are locked with your password on your phone before they're stored — nobody can read them without it, not even the person running the service.
- New accounts get a one-time recovery code, in case you ever forget your password.
- Fixes for signing up and for changing your password.
Par sheet previews
minor2026-08-13- Tap a par sheet to see its pars and stroke indexes before you play.
- Par sheets are tagged Men's or Women's, and you can hide one category in Settings.
- A plan can use a specific par sheet.
Scoring with your handicap
major2026-08-12- Enter your handicap and the app works out net scores for you — including the strokes you get on each hole.
- A big, simple number pad for entering scores, with the hole's par highlighted.

How to use the app, one topic at a time.
Getting started
Open golf.kampen.cc in your phone's browser. That's it — it works straight away. To make it feel like a normal app:
Put it on your home screen
iPhone (Safari): tap the Share button ⬆ → Add to Home Screen.
Android (Chrome): tap the menu ⋮ → Install app or Add to Home screen.
Open it from your home screen. It runs full-screen and keeps working even with poor signal on the course.
The ☰ menu
The ☰ button in the top-left corner switches between the app's three modes:
- Free-form rangefinder — measure distances, anywhere. No account, no setup: open it and point.
- Plan / Strategy — your courses and plans.
- Play / Scorecard — start or continue a round.
Below those are Account and Settings. Each menu item has its own line symbol — the crosshair is the rangefinder, the winding route is planning.
Rangefinder
The screen is a satellite map. You are the blue dot; the number at the top shows the distance you're measuring.
Measure from where you stand
Drag the map so your target sits under the measuring point — the number shows the distance from you to it.
Tap + to add a point along the way (say, a layup spot) and see the distance to it too. − removes one.
Drag any dot to fine-tune. Reset clears everything; ⟲ undoes the last change.
Measure between two spots
Turn GPS off with the pin button (bottom-right). Then tap point A, then point B — the distance between them is shown. Handy for "how wide is that gap?". Turn GPS back on to return to normal.
Good to know
- One finger drags the map; two fingers zoom and rotate it.
- The ◎◎ double-circle button (bottom-right) shows distance rings of 5, 10, 15 and 20 m around the green — useful for chips and pitches.
- Metres or yards? Change it in Settings.
Courses
The library covers more than 25,000 courses worldwide. Open ☰ → Plan / Strategy to browse.
Find a course
- My courses — your saved courses and ones you've created.
- Community — courses other players have shared, closest to you first.
- Map — every course on one map. Tap a cluster to zoom in; the list at the bottom follows the map.
- Use the search box to find a course by name. Open a course and tap Add to My courses (the star) to save it.
Add a course that's missing
Tap + New course and type its name.
Tap Set position on map, drag the pin to the course, and confirm with the ✓ button.
If the app notices a course already exists nearby, it will suggest using that one instead.
Is a course listed twice, or in the wrong place? Open it → Edit details, or use Merge to combine duplicates.
Planning your game
A plan is your playbook for a course: for each hole, the line you want to play, the dangers to avoid, and notes to yourself. You can keep several plans on the same course — say, one for calm days and one for wind.
On courses that come with hole maps, each hole opens zoomed in with the green at the top of the screen, and a suggested tee-to-green line already drawn — just drag it to match how you want to play.
Draw a hole
Open a course → Create your plan → give it a name → tap a hole number.
Pick a tool at the top: Route (your line, yellow dots), Red or OB (draw a danger line — it shows on every hole of the plan), or Width (measure a gap or landing zone).
Route: tap the map to add points; drag them to adjust. Red/OB: draw the line with one finger, like a pen. Width: drag the two end bars apart.
Write a note ("take the 3-wood — driver runs through the dogleg"), then tap Save. + Next hole moves you along; the ‹ › arrows step through every hole.
Put your clubs on the line
Each dot on your route can carry the club you plan to hit from that spot — the tee shows your drive, the dot before the green shows your approach. The club name appears inside the dot, so the whole hole reads like a shot list at a glance.
- Suggested automatically. If you've entered your club distances in Settings, every dot starts with the club whose distance best matches the shot — and the suggestion updates as you drag the dots around.
- Choose yourself. Hold a dot down and pick from your bag — or turn the label off for that dot.
- Choices you make yourself are saved with the plan; automatic ones always reflect your current bag.
See where your misses land
Turn on the ▷ spread button above the rings and each planned shot grows a shaded wedge from its dot — the area where your ball will likely come down, based on that club's numbers in Settings. A driver sprays wide, a wedge stays tight; a longer shot stretches the wedge, a shorter one shrinks it.
- The wedges use your spread numbers — enter them once in Settings and every plan shows them.
- By default every club is treated as even (same miss both sides). Switch Settings to Left / Right and you can say how far and how wide each side misses — if your left miss flies 15 m past your right, the wedge leans long-left, exactly where that miss lands.
Your plans live in the plan list
On a course, "Plans on this course" shows your plans and any that other players have shared. You can copy someone's plan to make it your own with ⧉ Copy this plan.
Pars, stroke indexes & ratings
A par sheet lists each hole's par and stroke index, plus the course and slope ratings for that set of tees. Every course can have several — one per tee.
Sheets are what the app runs on: playing a round requires one, and planning shows pars when one exists. Most courses already have a sheet with pars; stroke indexes and ratings are thinner on the ground — that part improves as players contribute theirs.
- Tap a sheet's name to see it before you use it.
- Enter par sheet adds one: fill in par and stroke index per hole. The app warns you if a number is used twice.
- Each sheet is marked Men's or Women's.
- The ⋮ menu on a sheet lets you make your own copy (for a different tee), suggest a correction, or flag it if it's wrong. Sheets that have been checked show a green verified mark.
Playing & scoring
☰ → Play / Scorecard. You'll see your rounds — any still in progress at the top, finished ones below. Tap Start new round.
Set up the round
- Players: add yourself, friends who don't use the app (just a name), or invite players by their username. Each player can enter a handicap and picks which scores to track: gross, net, or both.
- Caddie book (optional): each player picks one of their plans on the course to follow during the round — its lines and notes show on the map as you play.
- Par sheet: pick the one matching the tees you're playing. Its pars drive everything.
- Track (optional): putts, penalty strokes and a note per hole.
While you play
- Each player has a score box for the current hole. Tap it → a big number pad slides up. Tap the score and it saves; the hole's par is highlighted so you can find it fast. Pick up if the hole is lost; Clear to undo.
- Tap a player's name to switch to them — then putts, penalties and the note are theirs.
- Tap the crosshair button (bottom-left) to use the rangefinder without leaving the round — the same crosshair as the menu's rangefinder. The ‹ › arrows move between holes.
- Tap the hole name at the top to see the full scorecard. Finish ends the round (you can reopen it later), and Players lets you adjust the group mid-round.
Reading the scorecard
- Familiar marks: a circle is a birdie or better, a square a bogey, a double square a double or worse.
- Little blue dots mark the holes where a player gets a stroke for net play.
- If someone picked up, their gross and net totals show a dash — but the adjusted total still counts.
Sharing & community
Share what you've made
- A course: open it → Share. Others can see the course; your plans stay yours.
- A plan: in the plan list, tap the globe/padlock symbol on a plan to share just that plan (globe = shared, padlock = private).
- A round: invite players when you start the card — everyone scores on their own phone and it stays in sync.
Borrow what others made
- Browse the Community tab for shared courses, and shared plans on any course. Copy anything — the copy is yours to change privately.
- See a wrong par or a tee in the wrong place? Use the ⋮ menu to suggest a correction or flag it. Someone will review it.
Account & settings
Account
- Create an account with an email, a username and a password. The username is what other players see — never your email.
- Display name (optional): the friendly name shown on scorecards. Leave it empty to just use your username.
- Forgot your password? Your scorecards are protected by it. When you signed up you were shown a recovery code — that code is the only way back in, so keep it somewhere safe.
- Staying signed in: your sign-in is remembered on this device for a long time — you only sign in again after you sign out yourself. Using "Sign out" on a shared device is what keeps your account safe there.
- Who accepts suggestions? Anyone can send a correction for a course, par sheet or hole mapping. The person who created it — or the app's maintainer — decides whether to accept it.
Settings
- Clubs — tick the clubs in your bag. This one follows your account, so it's the same on every device; the rest of Settings is per device. Changes save on their own — a small "✓ Saved" appears once a distance or spread number sticks.
- Distances — how far you hit each club in the bag, in metres or yards. Used to suggest a club on every dot of a plan.
- Dispersion — how wide each club sprays, which sets the size of the miss wedges on a plan.
- Even / Left-Right — leave it on Even if your misses are the same both sides. Left / Right gives each club two distances (how far each side's miss carries) and two spread numbers (how wide each side is) — the wedges on your plan come out skewed to match.
- Metres or yards.
- Your handicap — filled in automatically when you start a round.
- Keep the screen awake while you play.
- Par sheets to show — hide Men's or Women's sheets in the list.
